Related APCD Activity

  • The Michigan Data Collaborative built a Multi-Payer Claims Database in support of state-wide care transformation efforts funded by the payers participating in these projects. The database includes approximately 40% of the Michigan population. Payers include Medicare, Medicaid, and the three largest commercial payers in the state: Blue Cross and Blue Shield Michigan, Blue Care Network, and Priority Health. The total membership from these five payers represents 80% of the market in Michigan. An APCD, or data aggregator, was proposed in 2015 via Senate Bill 590, the Michigan Health Care Transparency Act. It has been referred to the Senate Committee on Health Policy. The Michigan Data Collaborative is a non-profit data aggregation, enrichment, and provisioning organization, established at the University of Michigan, which supports care delivery transformation initiatives across the state.
