Payment for Professional Services In Maryland: Factors Contributing to Variation and Comparison to Public Payers

This study examines variation in payment rate among commercial carriers in Maryland and compares this with Medicare and Medicaid payment rates. The implications of these findings are considered in light of the changing health landscape following the implementation of the ACA. The analyses rely on 2010 and 2011 payment and service data from Maryland's Medical Care Data Base (MCDB).
