This report provides the volume and allowed amounts for behavioral health claims (including substance use disorder claims), and separate volume and allowed amounts for substance use disorder claims in the Colorado All Payer Claims Database (CO APCD), from 2017-2019. Please note that claims for behavioral health and substance use are available from 2012-2017, but volumes and paid amounts for those years are not reflected in this report.

The behavioral health tab provides analysis of all behavioral health claims, including substance use disorder claims, by Commercially insured (not including Medicare Advantage), Medicare Advantage, Medicare Fee for Service (FFS) and Medicaid insured members. The substance use disorder claim tab provides volume and allowed amounts broken down by the same payer categories.

It is important to note that at the time of the analysis, Medicare FFS claims were only available in the CO APCD through December 31, 2018, and therefore 2019 all payer totals do not include Medicare FFS. This data provides an overview of the change in behavioral health and substance use disorder claims volume by payer and amounts paid for behavioral health over time.
